At the Resiliency Center of Idaho, we accept & support & amplify marginalized voices.

We are LGBT+ Affirming.

What does that mean?

  • We affirm each person's sexual orientation and gender expression

We believe in the wide spectrum of being and honor that in our clients. We believe people when they tell us who they are! We use preferred pronouns! We absolutely do not utilize any therapies that seek to change a person’s sexual orientation.

  • We believe that acceptance is suicide prevention

Suicide rates in LGBTQ+ population is disproportionately high. One of the factors for this is the high level of discrimination, bullying, and adversity that LGBT+ folx experience. We believe that acceptance is a first and important step to preventing suicide!

  • We support community efforts to accept all LGBT members

We believe that the best therapy interventions for LGBT+ folx happens outside the therapy room and in communities. While we are happy to support LGBT+ folx in addresses stressors and working through trauma, we know that the best way to help is to advocate for and create communities that are safe for them! We place advocacy and community support as a high priority in our professional activities.
