Megan Jo Olson, LMSW

Greetings, I’m Jo!

I am an LGBTQIA+ affirming provider with passions that include helping others overcome anxiety, depression, and negative views of themselves. I truly desire to help others to love and accept themselves.

I am also a registered dietitian, and my decision to pursue the path of social work was inspired by my desire to support folx as they navigate food and body image struggles. My experience in the field of dietetics made me acutely aware that nothing is a “one size fits all,” and revealed that prescriptive advice in the realm of personal matters tends to hinder healing.

I believe that there is a reason for every decision an individual makes, even when the decision seems counterintuitive to what that person is hoping to achieve. I regard a sense of safety as the foundation for exploring the things that lie beneath the surface. My approach is centered around providing unconditional positive regard to help clients build trust within themselves so that they can attune to and honor their truth in more meaningful ways.

I practice through a trauma-informed lens that incorporates aspects of Polyvagal Theory, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Internal Family Systems Therapy, and Narrative Therapy. I am also certified as a body positive practitioner and as an Intuitive Eating specialist.

Beyond my work as a clinician, I take pride in being a cat mom. In my free time, I find joy and flow in hiking, dancing, podcasting, rock climbing, baking, and playing basketball.
